SHANI CUNNINGHAM, DO

Dr. Shani Cunningham was born and raised in New York. Shortly after moving from New York to Florida, she matriculated at the University of Florida where she studied Food Science and Human Nutrition.

Doctor Cunningham holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida and earned her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. While in medical school, Dr. Cunningham served as the vice president of the Student National Medical Association and as a Student Ambassador for the College of Medicine. 

Dr. Cunningham completed an internship and pediatrics residency at Baylor College of Medicine -Texas Children’s Hospital, where she was awarded the Adam Cohen Award in Pediatric Professionalism. Following residency training, Dr. Cunningham completed a fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital. 

Dr. Cunningham is currently a Pediatric Hospitalist at AdventHealth for Children and serves as the Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Residency Program. In 2019, she received the Physician Caregiver of the Year Award at AdventHealth for Children. Dr. Cunningham enjoys spending time with her husband and children, traveling, and cooking.
