At Elevation Scholars, we not only help prepare students for college, but also help them get a head start on career planning with our Horizon Events. During these experiences, prestigious local businesses donate their time to host Scholars for the day, sharing their insights and answering students’ questions about their industries. Some events are more extensive, such as our visit to Orlando Health, which took place over four weeks and introduced Scholars to the numerous career options in medicine.
Through these events, students are exposed to a variety of career fields, ranging from technology and finance to health care and more. The diversity of the experiences allows Scholars to explore professions they may never have considered or even known about previously.
As Scholars are able to experience new career paths, they also have the chance to showcase themselves as desirable future recruits. The businesses love it too – they’re happy to share their passions with young minds and contribute to developing a new generation of potential talent.
